Romany is excited to join the team at ACT Podiatry Canberra in October 2019. Originally from Myrtleford in North East Victoria, Romany is now a proud Canberran having lived and worked here as a podiatrist for six years. Romany is impassioned by the diversity that walks in her door. Every patient she encounters presents a new context to apply her expertise and is motivated by the ability to improve quality of life in all age groups.

Romany loves biomechanics and believes the way your feet and legs move truly impacts your overall health. Romany applies a holistic approach to her offloading, orthotic and exercise therapy. Romany is able to offer the full scope of podiatric services to the community including nails, corns and callus treatments, biomechanical assessment, nail surgery, orthotic therapy, diabetes assessment and reporting, offloading, high risk foot care, wound care, and management of children’s feet and walking development.

Romany graduated in 2013 from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours) and has completed post graduate courses in the sports pelvis and hips, diagnostic injection techniques, surgery, aged care, and paediatric podiatry.

Romany is currently studying towards becoming an ‘Endorsed Podiatrist’. This involves clinical supervision and case work for the prescription of medications in podiatric practice. This study will broaden her scope of practice to include the prescription of medication and therapeutic injections.

Outside of podiatry, Romany enjoys swing dancing and jazz singing and is a great embracer of what could be lovingly referred to as ‘grandparent activities’ like sewing, knitting, gardening, baking and preserving.
