Bunion Case Study
These photos demonstrate the non-weight bearing structure at pre-surgery and 7-weeks post-surgery. The incisions line will continue to mature and fade, the redness (rubor) will diminish and the dry flaking skin will fully resolve.
Hallux valgus repair surgery can be extremely powerful as these pictures demonstrate. The clinical photos are pre op and about 7-weeks post surgery. Note the difference in appearance from the pre-op to the post-operative x-rays. This correction has been done via osteotomies (bone cuts involving shifting of the cut bone) and soft tissue balancing around each 1st MTP joint. The appearance of the patients skin will dramatically improve during the next few months.
